What has a battle tank got to do with a football pitch? Nothing, right? Well that was before Full Metal Soccer, an on-line innovative game that is a football match, not between people but tanks.
The graphics are notable, well done and colourful, and the play is in first person, which is also something worth highlighting.
The rules are a little different to conventional football. You have to score more goals than the opposition, true, but there are no fouls, or penalties or any impediment. You can pass over your rivals or even shoot at a tank. When a goal is scored the ball appears in the middle of the pitch, signifying that the game is starting again. Each player has a tank on six wheels, and a cannon that can turn independently of the rest of the tank.
All this (and much more) in a very funny, completely free game that hardly consumes system resources despite the quality of its graphics.
